It is narrated from Sufyaan Thaawri, may Allah be pleased with him, that ten things are acts of oppression:
1) A man or woman supplicate for themselves but not for their parents or other believers.
2) A man recites the Quran but does not recite a hundred verses each day.
3) A man enters a mosque but leaves it without praying two rakahs
4) A man passes a graveyard but does not offer salaam upon the inhabitants and does not supplicate for them.
5) A man enters a city on the day of Jumuah and leaves without praying Salatul Jumuah
6) A man or woman, who when a scholar comes to their locality, do not go to him to seek anything from knowledge.
7) Two men meet on a journey and neither one asks the other’s name
8) A man invites another to be his guest and he refuses his hospitality
9) A young man with free time wastes his youth and does not seek knowledge and manners.
10) A man who eats to his fill whilst his neighbour is hungry and does not give him anything from his food.

Omar Hussain Says:
Assalamualaikum,
On the prayer calenders there are two Mith’l timings for Asr. I would like to know what purpose these has as the first Mithl starts an hour before the jammah time and the 2nd about 20 mins before.
I am a bit confused at these timings as i am not sure if my Zuhr becomes koza after this first timing or the second?
Answer:
This is a good question and a topic of confusion for lots of people. There are two opinions of when Asar starts (and linked to this when Zuhr ends for Asar starts when Zuhr ends). The Hanafee fiqh opinion is that it is two Mithl (mithl means exact size so when everything’s shadow is twice its size is when the Asar prayer for hanafees starts (so Zuhr can be prayed up to that time). The other schools believe Asar starts ealrlier when everything is 1 Mithl (the shadow = its exact size). The Hanafee opinion means that Asar time is a lot shorter than Zuhr which is in line with a number of ahadith where Asar time has been described as much shorter than Zuhr. Consequerntly as a hanafee you shoudl pray Asar after the 2 mithl time and not before. As a non-hanafee you can pray anytime after 1 Mithl uptil sunset.
Your Asar will not be Koza if you pray it between your respective Mithl and sunset.

Thank you for your question brother Abdul Hasan and giving us the opportunity to earn reward.
Are the Four Rakahs before or after Jumuah proven? There is indirect evidence for the four before and for the four after there is strong direct evidence. So taking the strongest first:
Some (not all) ahadith for Four rakahs after Jumuah
Some narrations say he prayed two rakahs; Ibn ‘Umar reported that the Prophet did not pray after Jumuah until after he had gone back and would pray two rakahs in his house. [Muslim]
So 2 or 4 after Jumuah are directly proven so shouldn’t be missed.
Some ahadith indirectly proving 4 before Jumuah:
The Prophet would always pray 4 rakahs after zawaal (when the sun begins to set); some see these as being the 4 rakahs before Zuhr and that is not a problem for the 2 rakahs of Jumuah and 2 khutbahs replace the 4 Fard of Zuhr on a Friday. But nothing replaces the sunnahs so they should be offered as normal.
· Abdullah ibn as-Sa’ib reported that the Prophet used to pray four rak’ahs when the sun began to descend before the Zuhr prayer. He said, ‘It is a time when the gates of heaven are opened and I want a righteous action to ascend for me in it.’” [Tirmidhi]
· ‘A’isha reported that the Prophet did not miss the four rak’ahs before Zuhr.” (Bukhaari)
Reading four rakahs sunnahs before Zuhr everyday is a very praised act. On Friday these would have to be before the Jumuah prayer:
· Aisha reported that the Prophet said ‘Whoever prayed 12 rakah sunnah every day Allah will build for him a house in Jannah; 4 rakahs before Zuhr and 2 after; 2 after maghrib; 2 after Isha and two before Fajar.’ (Tirmidhi; Abu Dawud; Nisai & Ibn Majah)
